Backcountry just introduced price-friendly gear to help diversify the outdoors and get more folks outside.
Founded in 1996, online retailer Backcountry has finally launched its own camping equipment collection. The retailer already has an in-house apparel brand called Stoic, but this new collection will focus on hardgoods.
Backcountry-owned brand Stoic made the collection for both those “just getting into the outdoors and more seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.” The new camp equipment line offers functional, user-friendly products at a more accessible price point than a lot of products on market.
The camp gear collection includes a broad selection of items, including a three-season family tent, a 20-degree sleeping bag, a self-inflating air bed, and camp tables and chairs. The collection also has a variety of men’s and women’s apparel, with new technical fleeces and outerwear.
Check out some of the feature items below.
Backcountry Camp Gear: New for 2020
Stoic Madrone 4-Person Tent ($200): This durable, three-season, four-person tent comes with a vented fly and stakes. It’s designed for car or backyard camping.
Stoic Driftwood 2-Person Backpacking Tent ($250): This lighter-weight, three-season, two-person tent is designed as a versatile option for camping or backpacking. It has two doors and weighs just under 6 pounds. While that’s on the heavier side of backpacking tents, it’s light enough to serve for a weekend adventure away from the car.
Groundwork 20 Degree Sleeping Bag ($85): If there’s one place not to skimp, it’s your sleeping bag. While the Stoic synthetic sleeping bag hits a great price of just $85, it should still offer comfort down to fairly cold nights with a 20-degree rating. It uses a synthetic fill and has a water-repellent coating.
Groundwork Sleeping Pad 2.5 ($80-120): Stoic’s Groundwork sleeping pad comes in different thicknesses for the comfort level and price point that best fits your needs. The 2.5-inch self-inflating, insulated sleeping pad has a 4.2 R-value.
Basecamp Bivy Quilt Double ($95): This camp quilt offers durability for the outdoors for under $100. The quilt has a ripstop exterior, synthetic nylon insulation, and weighs about 3 pounds.
