Has comp climbing ever been as cool as ascending a 600-foot dam in Switzerland? Check out the results from Red Bull’s latest zany idea.
For Red Bull Dual Ascent, the outdoor media company built a climbing wall at the enormous Verzasca Dam in Switzerland.
This first-ever event resulted in wins for Alberto Ginés from Cáceres and Luka Potočar of Slovenia. After Jerney Kruder took a fall in the last stage of the event, the two climbers were able to “overcome their rivals,” Red Bull wrote.
They’ll go down in history as the first climbers to win an event that seems very likely to return. If nothing else, the scale of the course makes for great viewing. But don’t take our word for it — watch the event highlights here.
