Owen Leeper takes us around the world, skiing, chasing powder, sending sketchy cliffs, and even getting married in ‘Chasing Snow.’
What do you do when winter is holding out and skimping on snow? You climb higher, venture to new areas, and get creative. Maybe you even decide to get hitched.
That’s exactly what Owen Leeper did last season. Jackson Hole had a slow start and got a lot of wind that left many of Leeper’s favorite Jackson lines exposed and un-skiable. But not all of them. He still found the powder stashes and tore them up.
Then, he took to the road. With Wyoming’s winter falling short, Leeper sought snow in Alaska, Canada, and even Argentina.
“Everywhere I went, we had fun skiing,” Leeper writes, “but still dealt with avalanche issues and hard layers underneath, which kept me from hitting the big cliffs I love. It’s better to wait another year than get injured doing it in the wrong conditions.”
Still, in this video, Leeper hits some cliffs that almost anyone would qualify as “big.” He skis off some of the steepest terrain you can imagine, throws backflips, crushes fields of dreamy pillows, slashes untouched powder, takes face-shot after face-shot, and then he gets married on top of Jackson Hole.
Leeper does it all in this video edit of his skiing highlights from last season. The first-person shots make you feel as though you’re the one making the turns. And the conditions Leeper is skiing in are absolutely mouth-watering.
