Bike Monitoring Module — The Kickstarter-funded BikeSpike module was causing a buzz at Interbike. The $129 product mounts on bottle cage bolts and uses GPS and cellular signals to broadcast a bike’s position anywhere. In short, as the brand puts it, the BikeSpike “is a theft-deterring GPS tracker with tamper detection and automatic crash reporting.”
If your bike is stolen hop online to track the thief via GPS. You can also record route data and save racing or training stats. Finally, with a built-in accelerometer the BikeSpike can auto-report to family or friends if you’ve been in a crash.
