Carbon Fat Bike (and rims) — Fat bikes used to be obese not only in tire width but weight as well. Borealis Bikes is one brand trying to change that, and its Carbondale rim, debuted last week, are a case study: The 85mm wide rims, made of carbon fiber, weigh 590 grams each — lighter than many mountain bike wheels on the market.
