Last month, at the Utah Olympic Park, we watched as climbers competed head-to-head at the Psicobloc Masters Series climbing comp. They scaled identical routes up a steep wall, no ropes or harnesses, just a massive swimming pool below to break the fall.

We covered the event in an article, “A 50-ft Wall, Only Water Below to Catch Your Fall,” and now this week the organizers released a captivating video on the comp. Psicobloc was one of the most exciting climbing events we’ve ever seen. Hoping the series catches on and gets huge as athletes and the spectating public embrace the unique new climbing format. —Stephen Regenold
