To fund the rescue, Harila is asking for donations on GoFundMe and auctioning off the Bremont watch used on her record-setting expedition.

The missing climbers include Tenjen Lama, who set a new speed record on the 14 highest peaks this year with Kristin Harila.

‘I still believe that Messner is the first,’ Viesturs said this week, adding that the famed climber was ‘years ahead of his time.’
