[leadin]Scott Jurek set a new supported speed record on the Appalachian trail July 12th after more than a month running straight. This is the gear that got him through.[/leadin]
Scott Jurek is obviously an exceptional athlete, propelling himself the entire length of the Appalachian Trail in 46 days, 8 hours, 8 minutes. Behind such a Herculean effort is months of planning, the support of a dedicated crew, and carefully selected gear.
We interviewed Jurek about the top gear he used on the trail. He is sponsored by some of these companies, and he has helped in the design of a few pieces here, but he’s put them through an ultimate test on the A.T. Jurek’s experience will help others in choosing good equipment for epic hikes of their own.
